The online tool is free and will guide you step-by-step through the process of determining living expenses relative to income and debt. Throughout the module, as you create a budget, you will find tools for tracking expenses, tips for taking control of personal finances, direction on reducing debt, and education specific to your areas of challenge. BALANCE certified financial counselors can answer many of your questions immediately–from how long an item stays on your credit report to whether it's better to lease or buy a car. For more complex issues, such as debt elimination or budget development, an appointment will be scheduled, giving you the personal attention you need to meet your objectives. >>Back to To Debt Management If bills have gotten out of hand, your counselor may be able to arrange a Debt Management Plan. BALANCE counselors negotiate with creditors to reduce your interest and fees so you can pay your debt down quickly and efficiently.
