A non-member visited a patriot branch office to discuss the vehicle interest rate he saw advertised in the newspaper. He recently purchased a vehicle and financed it through another financial institution at 8.94%. Patriot updated an application and saw that he qualified for 4.75% vehicle loan rate. We called for a payoff and prepared the loan documents while he was here to close loan immediately. Since he was a non-member we also opened up a savings which he intends to set up with direct deposit. The member was very happy to take care of everything at one time and save half the interest he would've been paying with the original vehicle loan at a competing financial institution.

A member drove to a local ATM to make a deposit. Unfortunately, that ATM did not have the deposit function. A Patriot employee noticed that the member was a registered eBRANCH user and had e-SMART Deposit privileges. The member was notified that she could make the deposit on-line making it a real-time deposit. She was very happy to know she could mail in her deposit and didn't have to drive to a branch in Chambersburg.

A member applied for a signature loan and while the Membership Officer pulled a credit report it was noticed that the member had an auto loan with another financial institution. The member was paying 11% and Patriot was currently offering 6.5%. The member refinanced the loan and saved approximately $50.00 a month on refinancing their auto loan at Patriot.

A member came into the credit union and was planning to deposit two small checks. By cashing the one for $8.25 it would authorize a company to bill her an annual membership fee of $139.99 after a trial period. To cancel she had to call a provided number. It also said cashing it would authorize another company to transfer her credit card info to Buyers Advantage for enrollment billing and benefit enrollment. The other check was for $5.00 and had a similar offer on the back of the check. The offer was with ID Secure through her credit card company. The offer was made after a purchase she had made. After showing her what she was agreeing to she decided to void and shred the checks. She was very happy that Patriot had made her aware of this.

A member wanted to purchase an engagement ring with his debit card. Patriot opened his card for $3,000 for that day only. He was so happy that we could do this for him. Since he was going to get married, we asked him if we could assist him with purchasing a home and told him to check with us for his mortgage. His response was "Yes maam I sure will" He left here like he was on cloud 9-very excited!

A member wanted some information on her account. A Patriot Membership officer spoke to her about e-Branch (online banking), and she was willing to sign up for the service and linked her children's account to hers so she can deposit funds into their accounts from home. She also is signed-up for the bill payer service, e-Smart Pay and plans to use that service to make her life easier. She is very excited to be able to use both services.

A Patriot Membership Officer finalized a used auto refinance loan for a member that has been with Patriot since 1993. While Patriot was the Primary Financial Institution, we needed to refinance a loan (presently at 4.75%) from Toyota. In review of application, it was noted that the members had a credit card balance of $12,500. They also had a 1st mortgage with a balance of $69K. The Membership Officer spoke to the members about refinancing the 1st mortgage and paying off the high balance credit card with a 15-year Fixed Home Equity at a rate of 6.70% (which is a much better rate than what they are currently getting on the mortgage). They were very happy about this idea, and they had wanted to do something with their mortgage for some time; however, they didn't want to pay the fees usually charged with a mortgage re-finance. When Patriot officials reviewed with them their savings, she discovered that we would be saving them about $30K in overall interest (on the mortgage alone). The member was able to shorten the term; plus, lower both interest rate and monthly payments for them!! Needless to say, the members were elated!!

A Patriot employee had a member in her office who had a certificate maturing with another financial institution and a certificate which had already rolled into a new certificate but was not paying a good rate. This member was not happy with her service or the rates provided at this company. The member then spoke with a Patriot Financial Services representative. We reviewed the fixed products available with PFS and the member was very, very pleased with the service and investment rate of return.

A member inquired about a mortgage to purchase a home. He wanted to know if he was getting a good deal with another lender. A Patriot Membership Officer reviewed the information with him. He needed to settle in less than 3 weeks from application. This was the member's dream house. Patriot was able to save the member over 1% on the mortgage interest rate, save money on monthly Primary Mortgage Insurance, and more of his funds are going to down payment instead of fees. The member is extremely grateful to Patriot for helping him fulfill his dream.

A member came to Patriot to apply for funds for home improvement. During the application, while reviewing his credit reports the member and the Patriot's Membership Officer discussed other debt the member currently had on file. The member was pleasantly surprised to find out that he will be lowering his monthly payment by consolidating all of his loans, while providing funds for home improvement.
