Armed Forces Day – Trail of Service Dedication

Following the Armed Forces Day POW-MIA Remembrance Service, at the Letterkenny Chapel, a special ribbon-cutting ceremony was held, officially recognizing the completion of the “Connecting Pathway to the Trail of Service” area at the Letterkenny Chapel and Franklin County Veterans and 9-11 Memorial Park, on the Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg.

Participating in the ribbon-cutting event was Letterkenny Army Depot Commander, Colonel Deacon Maddox; Franklin County Commissions Bob Thomas and Bob Ziobrowski, along with Patriot President/CEO Brad Warner. The County and Patriot provided sponsorship funding for the construction of the “Connecting Pathway to the Trail of Service”.

The “Connecting Pathway Trail of Service” was constructed by CASHS Navy Junior R.O.T.C. Cadets, Boy Scouts and other community organization and volunteers in the Fall of 2015. The trail is 600 feet in length, with 20 interactive digital kiosks to upload information about the Historic Letterkenny Chapel, the Veterans and 9-11 Memorial Park, and other park history topics of interest.
