Patriot Supports United Way COVID-19 Relief

Patriot Federal Credit Union recently supported the COVID-19 Relief funds of the Franklin County United Way, PA and the Washington County United Way, MD, donating a total of $6,500 to help support local communities impacted by the coronavirus.   

“Patriot is honored to support the wonderful people in our communities and especially all those who serve in these unprecedented times,” said Brad Warner, President/CEO of Patriot.  The United Way is a great organization which effectively delivers aid to individuals in need throughout our great nation.   As CEO, I especially want to thank the Community Foundation of Washington County for matching our donation in Washington County, making it possible to help even more people in these difficult times.”

The Community Crisis Response & Recovery Fund of the United Way of Franklin County, PA., helps aid families and individuals with unmet needs such as food, shelter, rent, utility, medical assistance.   

“In times of uncertainty, it’s important for community to come together to take care of people’s needs,” said Amy Hicks, Executive Director, United Way of Franklin County.  The support of Patriot and other companies and individuals that are stepping up, makes a huge difference toward assuring the well-being of families and individuals in Franklin County. Organizations that are working right now to provide food, shelter, and healthcare services are counting on this kind of support.”

The United Way of Washington County, MD., COVID-19 Emergency Assistance Fund was created to deliver economic assistance and access to vital food and basic need supplies to the many children, families and households who are impacted by the temporary loss of income.  

“Before this pandemic, 42% of our community was asset limited, income constrained, and employed (A.L.I.C.E.) and they were already struggling with basic needs,” said Heather Guessford, President & CEO of United Way of Washington County, MD.   Now, these folks are either unable to work due to being too high-risk or furloughed and they’re unable to shop for groceries, pay utility bills, and are experiencing the loneliness associated with isolation.   We want to say, THANK YOU, Patriot for helping us support our community.  Your generosity will help us meet critical community needs.”
