Digital Wallet

As a Patriot member, you can now use your Patriot debit and credit cards via Apple Pay®, Google Pay™, Samsung Pay®, or Garmin Pay™. Receive the same great benefits that come with your card securely at thousands of locations without carrying the physical card. With a digital wallet, you can pay for purchases online and in-person from your smartphone. Convenient, easy, and secure, it’s a great complement to your Patriot accounts.

How digital wallets work

Start by downloading the mobile app for the wallet that is compatible with your device (for example, Apple Pay is for Apple devices). Then, load the card information you want to store. Once you’ve loaded your cards to your digital wallet of choice, you can make payments using your smartphone or watch. Here’s how:

Paying In-Store

  1. Look for the contactless payment symbol or the symbol for your specific wallet.
  2. Open your digital wallet app and hold it up to the payment terminal.
  3. If asked on the payment terminal, enter a PIN. This is the same PIN you use with your physical card. You may be asked to sign, depending on merchant and amount.

Paying Online:

On a website or app, you may see a button with the name of your favorite digital wallet. If asked, choose a payment method and shipping address then confirm your order.

Many retailers offer updated payment-processing terminals, both in-store and online, that accept mobile wallets.

Are digital wallets safe?

Digital wallets are actually more secure than your physical cards. That’s because mobile payments are heavily encrypted, meaning that none of your actual card or account numbers are stored within the digital wallet. When you add your personal information into a digital wallet, that data is then converted into a unique code via encryption that can only be accessed by authorized entities. This process makes it so that your card information is never sent to the merchant.
